About this Work

Stillwater Marsh was commissioned by Emlyn Johnson and Daniel Ketter of the American Wild Ensemble. The piece, a duo for flute and cello, is about a local waterfowl resting area near Bloomington, IN, which is a haven for many types of birds, including whooping cranes, wood ducks, indigo buntings and yellowthroats, among numerous other species.
